A patch cord ,optic fiber connector,patch cable or patch lead is always fitted with connectors at both ends. is an optical cable used to connect ("patch in") one optical device to another for signal routing. Devices of different types (e.g., a switch connected to a computer, or a switch to a router) are connected with patch cords.A pigtail is similar to a patch cord and is the informal name given to a cable fitted with a connector at one end and bare wires (or bare fiber) at the other.

a patch cord is fitted with connectors at both ends, then how many in total for these 4 interface ?

in theory it has 16 kinds of interface. but is it correct ? FC- SC is the same to SC - FC. so in fact ,it has 10 kinds of interfaces .

a patch cord has single- mode fiber and multi-mode fiber (50/125,62.5/125),OM3,OM4,OM5,MPO,drop cable patch cord ect.the length of patch cord can be customized in 1m,2m,3m,5m,10m,20m,50m ect,but mostly are relatively short, perhaps no longer than ten meters.

patch cords are usually produced in many different colors so as to be easily distinguishable
